On earth as it is in Heaven

Are you tired of living a routine Christian life, feeling like a bystander to the supernatural? God has designed you for something far greater. You are called to bring the reality of Heaven down to earth, to silence life’s fiercest storms, and to unleash a culture of miracles. Read this article based on Bill Johnson‘s preaching, and dive into how we can walk in this divine authority every single day!

Bringing Heaven to earth through a renewed mind

Have you ever realized that your ultimate purpose as a believer is not just to wait around and secure a ticket to Heaven? Jesus has already qualified you and will get you there. Instead, your real job on this earth is to bring Him and His heavenly reality down here. This is the very essence of the prayer Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:10: “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven“. But how does this happen? The key lies in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind“. To bring Heaven to earth, we must completely change the way we think.

Jesus introduced His entire ministry with a powerful command: “Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). In the original Greek, repentance is metanoia, which literally means to change your mind or your way of thinking. Many of us repent just enough to be forgiven, but not enough to actually see and experience the kingdom of God. Religion often seeks to box us in, kill our dreams, and make us survive on routine. In history, reformers like Hans Nielsen Hauge in Norway brought Revival not just by preaching, but by starting creative, holy businesses and transforming society. This type of entrepreneurial and creative thinking is God’s idea, but pharisaism tries to kill it.

Our Creator has put a divine spark of imagination inside you. Look at how Jesus dealt with His disciples when they argued about who was the greatest. Instead of crushing their desire for greatness, He simply redefined it through kingdom values—greatness is found in serving. When your mind is truly renewed, you stop living by religious routines and start dreaming big again. You begin to realize that God wants to express His creative abundance through you. By aligning your thoughts with Heaven, you become a portal through which God’s will is demonstrated on earth.

Sleeping in the storm and speaking to your mountains

Imagine being in a small boat in the middle of a violent storm. The waves are crashing, the boat is filling with water, and death seems certain. In Mark 4:35-41, we find this exact scenario, but there is one detail that baffles the disciples: Jesus is fast asleep on a pillow in the back. In their panic, they wake Him and cry, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?“. Jesus stands up, rebukes the wind, and commands the sea: “Peace, be still!“. Instantly, the storm ceases and there is a great calm. Then, instead of comforting them, He asks, “Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?“.

Why was Jesus sleeping? It was not out of sheer exhaustion, but because the heavenly realm He lived in is completely free of storms. In Christ, you have access to a heavenly resting place that allows you to remain calm in any earthly crisis. You can only give what you actually have. When you possess internal peace, that peace becomes greater than any external conflict, and you can release it to silence the storms around you.

However, many Christians treat prayer as a way to avoid responsibility. We often cry out, “God, please bind the devil,” or “God, please move this mountain”. But, let us take an image: if you keep asking your boss to do what he already commanded you to do, how long will you keep your job? In Mark 11:23, Jesus said that if you speak to this mountain and command it to be cast into the sea, it will happen. He did not say to pray about the mountain; He said to speak to it with your voice of authority. God would much rather do something through you than simply for you. He has commissioned you: “As the Father has sent me, I also send you” (John 20:21). It is time to step into your position of authority, stop crying out in fear, and start speaking to your storms.

The power of testimony and the mercy seat

Did you know that sharing what God has done in your life is one of the most spiritually powerful acts you can perform? In the Old Testament, the gold box known as the Ark of the Covenant was also called the Ark of the Testimony. Inside it were the stone tablets, Aaron’s rod, and a jar of manna—all physical reminders of God’s miraculous acts. On top of this box, between two cherubim, sat the Mercy Seat. Every time you share a testimony, you are literally bringing God’s Mercy Seat into your conversations and meetings, giving others a chance to taste His grace.

In fact, the word “testimony” comes from a root that means “to do again”. This means that when you tell someone about a miracle, you are not just sharing a past event; you are actually prophesying God’s intention to do that very same miracle again. God is no respecter of persons; He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is always ready to repeat what He has done before. We must realize that our words carry the power to shift atmospheres and build faith in those who are currently suffering.

We see this power manifested when we look at the incredible miracles occurring around us. For instance, in our meetings, we witnessed a woman whose twenty-year tumor around a vein completely vanished. We saw another woman whose broken ankle required metal plates, only for the metal to disappear and full mobility to be restored by Jesus. Even a little boy with a misformed head was healed overnight after dreaming of Jesus touching him. Revelation 12:11 tells us that we overcome “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.” Never let pride or false humility keep you silent about what God has done. Whether it is a vanished tumor, healed knees, or a sense of peace that replaced chaos, share your story. Your testimony releases His miraculous presence into a world that is desperate for His grace.
